Join RUCOP APhA-ASP!!

APhA-ASP strives to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for personal growth, and to envision and endorse the future of pharmacy. As a chapter, we strive to emulate this model, while also preparing students to be committed, competent, and compassionate professionals, and being advocates of social justice. Your duties as a member are simple: As a member, you are expected to regularly attend chapter meetings, and stay in good academic standing with Roosevelt University.

Membership into APhA-ASP and the Illinois Pharmacists Association (IPhA) grants you access to many rewarding experiences. Patient care projects help develop your professional and leadership skills, while providing health services to the local community. You will have the opportunity to actively participate in the development of state and national legislation that will directly impact you and your classmates as practicing pharmacists. Annual meetings at state and national levels are the perfect opportunities to network with fellow students and practicing pharmacists, while expanding your knowledge of the profession.

*Liability Insurance:  This will protect you should you make a serious mistake while on rotations.  APhA currently partners with HPSO to provide professional liability insurance to final year student members only.  Coverage is NOT offered to students in their earlier years.  The activities and professional/pharmacy services which are covered under the terms of the current contract with HPSO for final year student pharmacists are “…pharmacy services you (student) perform solely as an active fourth year member of the Academy of Student Pharmacists (ASP) related to your pharmacy degree curriculum.”

Therefore, any activities that occur on your APPEs or within your curriculum are covered.
The professional liability insurance does NOT cover activities outside of the pharmacy curriculum such as work.
The limits of the policy are:
Professional Liability (each claim) - $1,000,000
Professional Liability (aggregate) - Each Student - $3,000,000
